Elaszym, as a protein hydrolase preparation, is mainly used to improve chronic inflammatory diseases and metabolic abnormalities. Its mechanism of action involves anti-inflammatory and fibrinolysis, and attention should be paid to the risk of interaction with specific drugs such as anticoagulants.

1. Effect of action

(1) Anti inflammatory effect: By decomposing inflammatory mediators bradykinin and fibrinogen peptide, it reduces increased vascular permeability and tissue edema, and is suitable for inflammatory diseases such as chronic bronchitis and pancreatitis.

(2) Fibrinolysis: Selective hydrolysis of abnormally deposited fibrin to improve microcirculation disorders, used as an adjuvant therapy for arteriosclerosis.

(3) Metabolic regulation: promotes the hydrolysis of cholesterol esters, reduces serum cholesterol levels, and has auxiliary therapeutic effects on hyperlipidemia.

2. Drug interactions

(1) Anticoagulants: Combined use with warfarin may enhance anticoagulant efficacy and increase the risk of bleeding, requiring monitoring of INR values and adjustment of dosage.

(2) Antiplatelet drugs: Aspirin and other drugs may synergistically increase bleeding tendency, and bleeding signs should be closely observed when used in combination.

(3) Fibrinolytic enzyme preparations: Combination with urokinase may cause excessive fibrinolysis, and their use is prohibited.

(4) Protease inhibitors, such as aprotinin, may antagonize elastase activity and reduce therapeutic efficacy.

3. Special precautions

(1) Patients with hemorrhagic diseases should use with caution, and active gastrointestinal ulcers should not be used.

(2) Medication should be temporarily suspended before and after surgery to avoid an increased risk of intraoperative bleeding.

(3) Co administration with alcoholic beverages may exacerbate gastrointestinal irritation.
