Febuxostat is a non purine selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor that inhibits the oxidative and reductive activities of xanthine oxidase (Ki values of 0.6 nmol/L and 3.1 nmol/L, respectively), blocking the key step of uric acid production and reducing blood uric acid levels.

5、 Usage and dosage
Gout and hyperuricemia:
The usual starting dose for adults is 10mg/day, taken orally once daily.
According to the gradual increase in blood uric acid levels, the maintenance dose is usually 40mg/day, with a maximum dose of 60mg/day.
Chemotherapy related hyperuricemia:
The usual dosage for adults is 60mg/day, taken orally once daily.
It is recommended to start administering the medication 1-2 days before chemotherapy and continue until the 5th day after the start of chemotherapy, and may be extended if necessary.
6、 Dose adjustment
At the beginning of treatment, the dosage should be slowly increased to reduce the risk of gout attacks.
Adjust the dosage based on blood uric acid monitoring results and patient tolerance.
Patients with renal or liver dysfunction should be carefully adjusted and follow medical advice.
7、 Medication precautions
Medication method:
It can be orally administered (disintegrating after saliva infiltration) or taken with water.
