1、 Timing of medication: on an empty stomach or with meals?

Febuxostat is not affected by food and can be taken on an empty stomach or with meals.

It is recommended to take medication at a fixed time every day to maintain a stable blood drug concentration and reduce forgetting.

Choosing before or after meals should be based on personal habits, but taking it with a high-fat diet may slightly affect absorption rate and does not affect overall efficacy.

2、 Initial dose and target

The recommended starting dose is 40mg once daily.

For those with high blood uric acid levels (such as>8mg/dL) or severe gout symptoms, starting directly from 80mg once a day (according to the instructions and doctor's judgment).

The treatment goal is usually to reduce blood uric acid to<6mg/dL (approximately 360 μ mol/L); Individuals with gouty tophi have a stricter target (<5mg/dL).

3、 Dosage titration (adjustment) plan

After starting treatment, blood uric acid should be rechecked 2 weeks later.
