Loratinib may cause side effects such as edema, peripheral neuropathy, and cognitive impairment, and requires targeted management. Edema can be relieved by adjusting the dosage and diuretics. Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy need to be monitored and reduced in a timely manner. The severity of cognitive impairment needs to be evaluated and intervention measures taken. 1. Edema management

Loratinib may cause limb or facial edema, usually associated with drug metabolism or cardiovascular effects. Mild edema can be relieved by raising limbs and limiting sodium intake, while moderate to severe cases require medical intervention.

(1) Graded processing

Grade 1-2 edema can be observed at the original dose; Level 3 medication needs to be temporarily suspended until it is reduced after recovery; Grade 4 or recurrent edema requires permanent discontinuation of medication. When accompanied by difficulty breathing, cardiovascular disease should be ruled out.

2. Coping with peripheral neuropathy

Manifested as numbness, tingling, or weakness in the limbs, which may be related to neurotoxicity. Regularly assess the severity of symptoms to avoid the addition of other neurotoxic drugs.

Grade 1 symptoms can continue to be treated with medication; Level 2 needs to be suspended until reduced after relief; Levels 3-4 require permanent discontinuation of medication. Vitamin B supplementation may improve symptoms, but requires medical guidance.

3. Handling of Cognitive Impairment

Including memory loss, decreased attention, etc., with a median occurrence time of 1.4 months. Family members are advised to participate in symptom monitoring and avoid high-risk activities such as driving.
