Lascufloxacin is a quinolone antibacterial agent. Nausea, diarrhea, and headache are relatively common gastrointestinal and nervous system reactions during treatment, most of which are mild and can resolve spontaneously.

I. Nausea

1.Adjust the timing of medication

Patients with obvious nausea may take the drug after meals to buffer gastric mucosal irritation with food; if originally taken on an empty stomach, it may be changed to take with a small amount of food.

2.Small, frequent meals

Avoid overeating at one time or eating greasy and spicy food; instead, eat small, frequent meals and choose light, easily digestible food.

3.Drink sufficient water when taking the drug

Take with sufficient plain water, and avoid lying down immediately after taking the drug to reduce stomach discomfort and reflux.

4.Seek medical attention if symptoms persist

If nausea persists and worsens, is accompanied by frequent vomiting, or makes eating impossible, inform the doctor to assess whether to adjust the dose or change the drug.

II. Diarrhea

1.Observe severity and frequency

Mild diarrhea may allow continued medication with observation; if bowel movements increase markedly or watery stools appear, vigilance should be increased.

2.Replenish water and electrolytes

During diarrhea, drink more water and appropriately supplement oral rehydration salts to prevent dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.

3.Hold off on antidiarrheal drugs

Do not use antidiarrheal drugs on your own, especially when fever or bloody stools occur; seek medical attention to rule out antibiotic-associated colitis.

4.Watch for serious warning signs

If severe abdominal pain, bloody stools, fever, or persistent diarrhea that does not relieve occurs, stop the drug immediately and seek medical attention.

III. Headache

1.Ensure rest and hydration

Headache is often related to fatigue and dehydration; ensure adequate sleep and appropriate water intake, and avoid overexertion.

2.Avoid triggering factors

Reduce stimulation from strong light and noise, avoid caffeine and alcohol, and maintain a regular routine to help relieve symptoms.

3.Symptomatic treatment

Mild headache may be treated with analgesics such as acetaminophen under the guidance of a doctor, but should not be taken long-term on one's own.

4.Watch for central nervous system reactions

If headache is accompanied by dizziness, insomnia, irritability, or even hallucinations and convulsions, it may be related to quinolone central nervous system adverse reactions; stop the drug immediately and seek medical attention.
