Xenleta is used to treat community-acquired bacterial pneumonia, but caution should be exercised when using it for patients with QTc prolongation and severe liver dysfunction.

1、 Notice for QTc prolongation patients

1. Risk awareness

Levofloxacin may prolong the QTc interval. QTc prolongation can increase the risk of severe arrhythmias such as apical torsion and ventricular tachycardia, and high-risk patients need to be particularly vigilant.

2. High risk factors

Individuals with a history of QTc prolongation, congenital long QT syndrome, arrhythmia, heart failure, and electrolyte imbalances (such as low potassium and low magnesium) have a higher risk.

3. Pre medication evaluation

Before starting treatment, risk factors for QTc prolongation should be evaluated, and if necessary, electrocardiogram examination should be performed to correct electrolyte abnormalities such as low potassium and low magnesium.

4. Taboos for concomitant medication

Avoid co administration with other drugs known to prolong QTc interval, such as some antiarrhythmic drugs, antipsychotic drugs, macrolide antibiotics, etc. If it must be used together, electrocardiogram monitoring should be strengthened.

5. Symptom monitoring

If palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or arrhythmia occur during medication, seek medical attention immediately.

6. Special populations

Elderly patients, women, and those with a history of heart disease may have a higher risk of QTc prolongation, and medication should be carefully evaluated.

2、 Notice for Patients with Severe Liver Insufficiency

1. Medication restrictions

Patients with severe liver dysfunction should avoid using Lenvatinib, as there is limited data on its use in this population and its safety is not yet clear.

2. Mild to moderate liver dysfunction

Patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction usually do not need to adjust the dosage, but should take the medication under the guidance of a doctor and closely monitor liver function.

3. Pre medication evaluation

Before starting treatment, liver function should be evaluated, including indicators such as transaminase and bilirubin, to clarify the liver function status.

4. Regular monitoring

During medication, regular liver function check ups should be conducted. If symptoms such as fatigue, decreased appetite, jaundice, and darkened urine color occur, medical attention should be sought promptly.

5. Precautions for combined medication

Severe liver dysfunction patients often use multiple drugs in combination, and attention should be paid to drug interactions to avoid exacerbating liver damage.

6. Alternative solutions

If antibiotics must be used, doctors may choose alternative drugs with less impact on liver function based on the condition.

3、 General precautions

1. Take medication according to medical advice

Strictly follow the dosage and treatment course prescribed by the doctor, and do not increase or decrease the medication on your own.

2. Complete the full course of treatment

Even if the symptoms improve, the complete course of treatment should be completed to avoid recurrence or the development of drug resistance.

3. Notify all medications

Proactively inform the doctor of all medications being used during the visit, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal products.

4. Regular follow-up visits

Follow up with the doctor as required, evaluate the efficacy and adverse reactions, and adjust the treatment plan if necessary.

5. Record discomfort

Record abnormal symptoms during medication to provide accurate information to doctors during follow-up visits.
